I make art to slow down, pay attention, and understand myself and the world around me.

Meet the artist

Beginning again counts as beginning.

Renee Louise is an Austin-area emerging artist creating bold portraits and botanicals in oil, acrylic, and mixed media. Her work celebrates women becoming more themselves—not less—as they grow older.

Her paintings combine painterly color, folk-inspired pattern, expressive faces, and the occasional sunflower that refuses to behave.

“I’m not trying to paint perfectly. I’m trying to paint something alive.”
